Stephen is an associate focusing in international taxation and estate planning. Prior to joining Cantor & Webb, P.A., he worked as an associate at Moodys Tax Advisors in Calgary, where he handled matters involving sophisticated cross border (United States – Canada) ownership structures and estate tax issues.
Mr. Nerland received both a Juris Doctor cum laude and a Master of Laws in Taxation from The University of Miami School of Law. Mr. Nerland served as Secretary of the Tax Law Society for two years and was given the Book Award: Federal Income Tax I, which is awarded to the highest grade in the course. He was recorded on the Dean’s List for two semesters of attendance and spent a summer of study in Greece and Spain, where he studied contracts, European regulation, and dispute resolution.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta Canada, Mr. Nerland was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2010.
